Under the leadership of Hanneke Faber, Logitech, a global frontrunner in the realm of computer peripherals, is seeking to revitalize its operations. Despite a slight downturn in the 2023-2024 results, the focus remains on the development and marketing of high-value products.
Faber, a Dutch national, took the helm of Logitech on December 1, 2023. She made her first public appearance on April 30, during the announcement of the company’s annual results, where she outlined her strategic vision for the company’s future.
The Lausanne-based enterprise reported a 5% decrease in revenues for the fiscal year 2023-2024, which ended in March, amounting to 4.3 billion dollars (4 billion euros). However, the first quarter saw a resurgence in revenues, with a 5% increase, signaling a recovery in activity.
The Covid-19 pandemic had spurred a surge in demand for computer equipment among households and businesses. The current figures, therefore, represent a soft landing compared to the pre-pandemic period. In 2019-2020, Logitech’s revenues were less than 3 billion dollars, but they soared beyond 5 billion for the next two years. For 2024-2025, Logitech projects a modest revenue growth of between 0% and 2%.
A Premium Portfolio
The task of reigniting Logitech’s momentum falls to Hanneke Faber. Her appointment followed the sudden resignation of her predecessor, American Bracken Darrell, announced on June 13, 2023. The news sent Logitech’s shares tumbling by 12% on the Zurich Stock Exchange the following day. This brief panic underscored the high regard investors had for Darrell and their concerns about his succession. Darrell had transformed Logitech from a company teetering on the brink of bankruptcy in April 2012 to a member of the SMI, the stock index comprising the top twenty listed companies in Switzerland.
